The short memoir version:

I write {picture books and memoir}. I design {websites}. I eat {chocolate}.

A little longer version, but a quick read:

  1. I’m a Georgia native living in Colorado.
  2. My husband and I met on e-Harmony. {It worked for us.}
  3. I will write for chocolate. Anyone?
  4. Deadlines motivate me.
  5. We named our son after the main character —a dog— in Garth Stein’s The Art of Racing in the Rain.
  6. I can’t make roses from frosting despite my first job as a cake decorator.
  7.  I knew I wanted to be a journalist early, so I contributed a weekly column to the local newspaper in high school.
  8.  I am a twin.
  9. I am a dog person, but will read about cats.
  10. I am a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators and Pikes Peak Writers. And, hate to miss any Springs Writers meetings.
  11. My memoir is about my late husband and me after he suffered a catastrophic brain stem stroke.
  12. My writing career began like so many do with a classroom book project A Book About Me in the second grade.
  13. I buy and read books.
